Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. water
    1 c. sugar
    1/3 c. cornstarch, mixed with 3 plus Tbsp. water
    2 eggs (room temperature), separated
    1 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 c. peanut butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 (9-inch) pie shell
    Cool Whip or meringue
Preparation
    Combine water, sugar and cornstarch.
    Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and looks transparent. Put in refrigerator to cool slightly, then add butter, cocoa, vanilla and peanut butter.
    Stir until well blended.
    Put into pie shell and let cool.
    Top with Cool Whip or meringue.
