Mom'S Beef Stew - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. stew meat
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/4 c. flour
2 Tbsp. oil or bacon dripping
1 c. water
1 Tbsp. worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. Kitchen Bouquet
1 Tbsp. catsup
4 med. potatoes, pared
4 med. carrots, pared
4 med. onions, peeled
1 c. frozen peas
Preparation

Cut meat into 1 inch pieces.
Roll in blended salt, pepper, paprika, and flour to coat each piece.
Then brown the meat in the fat in a large pot.
This browning gives rich, brown gravy and extra flavor to the meat.
Add water and seasonings.
Cover tightly and simmer about 2 hours.
(DO NOT BOIL) Add the vegetables.
Cover and cook another 30 mintes or until the vegetables are tender.
Add peas the last 15 minutes of cooking. If the broth is too thin, thicken it with 1 tablespoon of flour, mixed with 1/4 cup cold water.
Boil, stir, and taste.
