Old-Fashioned Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. cornmeal
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    2 eggs, beaten
    2 c. buttermilk
    1/4 c. bacon drippings
    3 tsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Combine cornmeal, soda, baking powder and salt; stir in eggs and buttermilk.
    Heat bacon drippings in an 8-inch cast-iron skillet until very hot.
    Add drippings to batter and mix well. Pour batter into hot skillet and bake at 450\u00b0 for about 25 minutes.
    Yield:
    8 to 10 servings, cut into pie shaped pieces.
