Steak And Onion Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. paprika
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1/8 tsp. ground allspice
    1 lb. round steak, cut in 1/2-inch cubes
    1/3 c. cooking oil
    2 c. chopped onion
    4 c. beef broth
    2 c. potatoes, cut in 1/8-inch slices
    2 Tbsp. flour
    3 Tbsp. water
    1 c. sifted flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. shortening
    1 egg
Preparation
    Combine 3 tablespoons flour, 1 teaspoon salt, paprika, pepper, ginger and allspice; coat beef cubes with flour mixture.
    Cook beef cubes in hot oil, stirring frequently.
    When beef begins to change color, add onion and saute until well browned.
    Add beef broth; cover and bring to boil.
    Reduce heat and simmer 1 hour. Add potatoes and cook 20 minutes.
    Combine 2 tablespoons flour and water; gradually stir into meat mixture.
    Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens.
