50% Whole Wheat Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. active dry yeast
    1/4 c. water
    1/4 c. sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 c. milk
    1 c. boiling water
    2 1/2 c. unbleached flour, unsifted
    3 c. stone ground whole wheat flour, unsifted
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup lukewarm water.
    In another bowl, combine sugar, salt, shortening, milk and boiling water.
    Cool to lukewarm; add yeast plus 2 1/2 cups unbleached flour (unsifted). Slowly add 3 cups stone whole wheat flour (unsifted).
