Meringue Jam Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. flour
    3/4 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. brown sugar
    1 1/4 c. shortening
    3 egg yolks
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. jam
    3 egg whites
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 c. nuts
Preparation
    Cream shortening and brown sugar.
    Add flour and salt and beat well.
    Add egg yolks and vanilla.
    Pat firmly into greased 10 x 15-inch pan.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
