Best Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. uncooked rice
    1 onion, chopped
    2 cloves garlic, chopped
    small amount of salt to taste
    white pepper to taste
    1 can consomme with gel
    1 can sliced water chestnuts, drained
    coarsely ground black pepper to taste
    1 small jar mushroom stems and pieces (do not drain)
Preparation
    Mix everything together.
    Pour into a large casserole dish with tight-fitting lid.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
