Canned Chow Chow - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. green tomatoes
    2 large cabbage heads
    3 red sweet peppers
    2 hot peppers
    1/2 c. salt
    vinegar to cover
    1 c. sugar
    1 box pickling spice
Preparation
    Grind first 4 ingredients into large container (consistency of slaw).
    Pour 1/2 cup salt over and let set overnight.
    Drain, then put in enough vinegar to cover.
    Add 1 cup sugar and 1 box pickling spice.
    Let come to boil for 5 minutes and pack in jars.
    Water bath can for 30 minutes.
