Pecan Cake - cooking recipe

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. Crisco
2 c. sugar
5 eggs (at room temperature)
2 1/2 c. plain flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 Tbsp. butter flavoring
1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation

Mix pecans with 1/4 cup flour and set aside.
Cream butter and Crisco slowly adding sugar.
After creaming butter and sugar, add eggs one at a time, beaten well after each egg.
Add sifted flour and soda, along with buttermilk.
Blend well and stir in pecans and mix.
Add flavoring. Pour into 3 greased and floured 9-inch cake pans.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
Cool and put Cream Cheese Icing on cake.
