Chicken Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small head lettuce, shredded
    1 whole chicken, cooked, boned and chopped
    1/4 c. chopped celery
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1/2 c. chopped red onion (1015 in season are better)
    1 can sliced and drained water chestnuts
    1 small pkg. frozen English peas, uncooked
    1 c. mayonnaise
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    4 boiled eggs
    grated cheese
    bacon bits
Preparation
    Use a large bowl and layer the first 7 ingredients as listed. Spread mayonnaise over top, evenly, to cover entire top.
    Spread sugar evenly over the mayonnaise.
    Cover with Saran Wrap and refrigerate overnight.
    Just before serving, cut the boiled eggs and place evenly over top.
    Sprinkle bacon bits across top. Sprinkle grated cheese liberally across top.
