Applesauce Fruitcake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. applesauce
    1/2 c. green maraschino cherries
    1/2 c. red maraschino cherries
    1/2 c. pecans
    1 c. walnuts (English)
    3/4 c. brown sugar
    3/4 c. white sugar (granulated)
    1 1/2 to 2 eggs
    2 c. sifted white flour (self-rising)
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. cloves (ground)
    1 tsp. soda (baking)
    1/4 c. shortening
    1 c. seedless raisins
    1/4 c. melted butter
Preparation
    Mix dry ingredients, then add wet.
    Add nuts and cherries last.
    Garnish top of cake with additional cherries and pecan halves if desired.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for one hour or until done (test with a toothpick).
