Fresh Tomato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 medium onions, chopped
    2 cloves garlic, crushed
    1/4 c. margarine
    4 lb. plum tomatoes, peeled and chopped
    6 c. chicken broth
    4 Tbsp. tomato paste
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. white pepper
    1 Tbsp. dried basil
Preparation
    In a large saucepan, saute onions and garlic in margarine until onions are tender.
    Add remaining ingredients except basil; simmer, stirring occasionally, 15 minutes or until slightly thickened.
    Remove from heat; cool slightly.
    Puree in blender (don't overblend).
    Return to saucepan.
    Stir in basil; heat gently.
