Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. plain flour
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. almond extract
1 c. shortening
2 c. flaked coconut
Preparation

Crem sugar, shortening, eggs and almond extract.
Add flour and salt; mix well.
Fold in coconut.
Shape into 1-inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Flatten with fork.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for 15 to 18 minutes, slightly golden around edges.
Makes 5 dozen.
