Raisin Energy Bars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. raisins
1/2 c. water
3/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/8 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. maple or vanilla extract
2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
3 c. quick cooking oats
3/4 c. chopped nuts
1 1/4 c. melted shortening
Preparation

Simmer raisins, water, sugar, starch and salt until thickened. Remove from heat, add extract.
Cool well.
(Can be blended in blender, so it looks like date bar filling.)
Sift flour, soda and salt together.
Combine with brown sugar, oats and nuts.
Mix in shortening.
