Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. rolled oats, uncooked
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 scant tsp. soda
1 1/2 c. flour
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation

Pour boiling water over rolled oats, cover and let stand 20 minutes.
Beat butter and sugars until fluffy.
Blend in vanilla and eggs.
Add oat mixture and mix well.
Sift together flour, soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Add to cream mixture.
Bake in well-greased and floured pan.
Coconut and nuts may be added, if you wish.
