Carrot Ring - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 1/3 c. Crisco shortening
    2 c. carrots, finely grated
    2 egg yolks, save whites
    juice of 1 lemon
    2 1/2 c. flour
    2/3 Tbsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    2 Tbsp. warm water
Preparation
    Mix together sugar, shortening, carrots, egg yolks and lemon juice.
    In separate bowl mix flour and baking powder then combine with carrot mixture.
    Combine baking soda and warm water then add to remaining ingredients.
    Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into mixture.
    Bake in ring mold at 350\u00b0 for 50 to 60 minutes.
