Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small head lettuce, cut up
    1/2 onion, minced
    1/2 green pepper, chopped fine
    2 c. Hellmann's mayonnaise (not Miracle Whip)
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 stalks celery, chopped fine
    4 hard-boiled eggs
    8 slices fried bacon
    8 oz. grated Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Layer in 9 x 13-inch plastic or glass pan:
    lettuce, onion, green pepper, celery, eggs and bacon (both eggs and bacon should be broken into pieces).
    Mix Hellmann's mayonnaise and sugar. Frost over salad and sprinkle with cheese.
    Let set for 2 hours in refrigerator before serving.
