Bacon And Onion Strata - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 slices bacon
    6 slices white bread, trimmed of crust
    6 slices wheat bread, trimmed of crust
    1 1/2 c. Cheddar cheese, shredded
    2 Tbsp. green onions, minced
    6 eggs
    3 c. milk
    1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Fry bacon until crisp; drain and break into small pieces. Generously grease a 13 x 9-inch glass baking dish.\tArrange 6 bread slices in bottom of dish alternating bread types if desired. Sprinkle bacon pieces, cheese and onions over bread.
    Top with remaining 6 bread slices, alternating or matching bread types. Beat eggs in a large bowl.\tAdd milk and pepper.
    Pour mixture over sandwiches.
    Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours or overnight. Uncover dish.
    Bake in preheated 325\u00b0 oven for 50 to 55 minutes until puffed and golden brown and knife inserted near center comes out clean.
