Batter Bread(Makes 2 Loaves) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. yeast
    1/4 c. lukewarm water
    1 c. milk
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. shortening
    3 1/4 c. sifted flour
Preparation
    Soften the yeast in warm water.
    Add scalded milk to sugar, salt and shortening.
    Cool to lukewarm.
    Add 2 cups of flour.
    Beat well with a spoon or mix 1 minute on medium-low speed of mixer. Add softened yeast and egg.
    Beat well again.
    Add remaining flour to make a thick batter.
    Beat until smooth.
    Cover and let rise in a warm place (80\u00b0 to 85\u00b0) until doubled.
    Stir down and smooth into the two greased 8 x 8 x 2-inch pans.
    Cover and let rise until almost doubled (about 50 minutes).
    Bake 25 to 35 minutes at 375\u00b0.
