Mom'S Apple Crisp - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7-8 lg. cooking apples
    2 T. butter
    1 c. flour
    1 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. butter
    1 t. cinnamon
    1/2 t. salt
Preparation
    Peel, core and slice apples. Place in an 8 x 8-inch baking dish and dot with the butter. Combine the next 5 ingredients together and combine like pastry, with 2 knives. Do not let it become oily. Crumble topping over apples. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 30-40 minutes until apples are done. Serve hot or cold with whipped cream or ice cream.
