Candy Cane Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. margarine
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. confectioners sugar
    1 egg
    1 1/2 tsp. almond extract
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    red food coloring
Preparation
    Mix thoroughly butter, shortening, sugar, egg and flavors. Blend in flour and salt.
    Divide dough in half and color one portion red.
    Shape into ropes and roll together; twist slightly. Curve down to form cane.
    Bake about 9 minutes at 375\u00b0.
