Turtle Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 German chocolate cake mix
    14 oz. bag caramels
    2 sticks butter
    1/2 c. chopped pecans
    1 can condensed milk (I use the homemade one)
Preparation
    Prepare cake mix as directed on package.
    Divide batter in half.
    Add one stick of butter (melted) and 1/2 can of mix.
    Pour into 13 x 9-inch greased and floured pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
    Melt caramels, 1 stick butter and remainder of milk. Add pecans.
    Pour over baked layer.
    Pour remaining cake batter on top of caramel layer.
    Bake for 25 to 30 minutes more.
    Very good and could be called a \"brownie\".
