Cinnamon Cucumber Pickle Rings(The Merilwood Farm Of Harold And Marion Pittman, Hernando) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    20 to 30 large cucumbers (almost white)
    2 c. pickling lime
    1 c. white vinegar
    1 small bottle red food coloring
    1 tsp. alum
    10 cinnamon sticks
    2 c. vinegar
    2 c. water
    10 c. (5 lbs.) sugar
    1 (12 oz.) pkg. red hots candy
    whole cloves
Preparation
    Peel and slice cucumbers into 1/3 inch thick.
    Then carefully cut out rounded centers.
    Soak the cucumber rings in 2 cups of lime and 8 1/2 quarts of water for 24 hours.
    After 24 hours, drain and wash.
