Fettucine Alfredo - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. fettucine
    1/4 lb. sweet butter, softened
    1 c. Parmesan cheese
    1/2 to 3/4 c. heavy cream or half and half
    pepper
Preparation
    Cook pasta in boiling salted water until just tender, not soft.
    Drain well and place in a heatproof serving dish over low heat.
    Toss the pasta in the butter until melted.
    Add the cheese and cream a little at a time, mixing lightly with 2 forks, until the cheese melts and the noodles absorb the cream.
    Add pepper to taste.
