Baked Cavatelli - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. wagon wheel pasta
    12 oz. Italian sausage links
    3/4 c. chopped green onion
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1 (14 oz.) jar spaghetti sauce with mushrooms
    4 oz. Mozzarella cheese, divided
    1 tsp. Italian seasoning
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
Preparation
    Cook pasta.
    Slice sausage into 1/2-inch thick pieces.
    Fry sausage.
    Reserve 1 teaspoon fat from sausage to cook onion and garlic in.
    Combine pasta, sausage, sauteed onion and garlic, tomato sauce, spaghetti sauce and half of the Mozzarella cheese in a 2-quart casserole.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 25 minutes, covered. Uncover and sprinkle with remaining cheese.
    Cook for an additional 5 to 10 minutes.
