Grandma'S Christmas Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. raisins
    2 c. boiling water
    2 tsp. baking soda
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    3/4 c. pecans, chopped (walnuts may be substituted)
Preparation
    In bowl, pour boiling water over raisins and baking soda.
    Let cool completely.
    In large bowl, beat eggs, vanilla and sugar together.
    Add flour and raisin mixture, alternating back and forth to egg mixture in large bowl.
