Aunt Millie'S Date Nut Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

8 oz. pkg. pitted dates or 1 c. packed
1 c. dark raisins (seedless)
1 c. walnut pieces (do not chop)
2 eggs, slightly beaten
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sugar
3 1/2 c. flour (unbleached or regular)
2 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 2 c. boiling water
Preparation

You will need 2 standard size loaf pans.
Place all fruit in large heat resistant bowl.
Pour over hot water with baking soda dissolved in it.
Stir to break up fruit clumps; cover and set aside to cool for 2 to 4 hours.
