New England Boiled Dinner - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 to 4 lb. corned brisket of beef
    8 small onions
    8 whole carrots
    4 potatoes, halved or quartered
    2 turnips, cubed (if desired)
    1 green cabbage, cut in wedges
    1 large red sweet pepper, sliced
    several sprigs fresh parsley
    sprinkle of dill weed
Preparation
    Place meat in heavy saucepan like a Dutch oven.
    Cover with hot water.
    Cover tightly; simmer about 3 hours.
    Skim off excess fat.
    Add onions, carrots, potatoes, turnips and red sweet pepper. Cover; cook for 20 minutes, then add dill, fresh parsley and cabbage.
    Cook 10 to 15 minutes more.
    Serves 8.
    Serve cornbread muffins with it and a dish of fresh fruit.
