Scottish Shortbread (Scotland) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. soft butter
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine flour and salt.
    Cream butter.
    Add sugar and vanilla and cream well.
    Stir in dry ingredients.
    Knead a few times on very lightly floured board.
    Chill dough for 1 hour.
    Pat into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Score with fork or imprint with a fancy design. Bake in slow oven, 325\u00b0, for 20 to 30 minutes or until delicately brown.
