Chewy Butter 'N Nut Clusters - cooking recipe

Ingredients

6 c. bite size crispy rice cereal
12 oz. can salted, mixed nuts
1 c. butter
1 1/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Mix cereal and nuts together in a large bowl.
In 2-quart saucepan, melt margarine on medium heat.
Stir in sugar and syrup. Cook, stirring occasionally, until mixture reaches soft ball stage (234\u00b0 to 238\u00b0) on candy thermometer (3 to 5 minutes).
Stir in vanilla.
Toss over cereal and nuts.
Spread evenly onto buttered cookie sheet.
Cool completely.
Break into clusters. Store in airtight container.
