Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick softened margarine
    1/2 c. Crisco
    2 c. sugar
    5 egg yolks
    5 egg whites, beaten
    1 tsp. soda
    2 c. plain flour
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. nuts
    1 c. coconut
Preparation
    Cream together margarine, Crisco and sugar.
    Add egg yolks; add flour and soda to mixture alternating with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour.
    Stir in nuts and coconut.
    Fold in beaten egg whites.
    Bake in three 9-inch greased and floured pans at 350\u00b0 about 20 minutes.
    Makes 3 layers.
