Mother'S Yeast Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. milk
    1/4 c. butter
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 pkg. dry yeast
    1 c. warm water
    1 egg
    4 1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    Heat milk, butter, sugar and salt.
    Set aside to cool. Sprinkle yeast in cup of warm water.
    To first mixture, add egg, then flour and then yeast water.
    Knead until smooth and elastic. Place dough in a warm place after brushing with melted shortening. Cover and let rise until double in bulk.
    Knead again and make into two loaves or rolls.
    Let rise again.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 about 40 minutes for bread.
    For rolls, bake at 375\u00b0 until lightly brown.
