Apple Pie Filling - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 qt. sliced apples
    8 c. water
    6 c. sugar
    1 c. cornstarch
    1 stick margarine
    few drops yellow food coloring
    spices to taste
Preparation
    Pack apples in jars.
    Bring remaining ingredients to a boil. Pour over apples in jars.
    Cook or process 20 minutes in hot water bath.
    Do not let syrup sit, it will be too thick and will not pour down through apples very good.
