9 Layer "Iced" Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium head lettuce, torn into pieces
    1 small can ripe olives, pitted
    1 medium cucumber, sliced and peeled
    1 large red onion, thinly sliced
    3/4 c. celery, diagonally sliced thinly
    3/4 c. red/yellow bell pepper, chopped
    1 c. carrots, thinly sliced
    1 pkg. frozen English peas
    1 1/2 c. cubed cooked chicken/ham
    3/4 c. mild Cheddar cheese, grated
    1 1/2 c. sour cream
    1/2 pkg. Ranch dressing mix
    bacon bits (optional)
Preparation
    In a large bowl, mix lettuce and olives as first layer.
    Layer next 8 ingredients, beginning with cucumbers and ending with cheese.
    \"Ice\" salad with mixture of sour cream and dressing mix. Refrigerate 2 to 4 hours.
    Garnish with bacon bits.
