Cherry Winks - cooking recipe

Ingredients

3/4 c. softened butter
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
2 Tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 3/4 c. flour
1 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. chopped maraschino cherries
3 c. crushed corn flakes
10 to 12 maraschino cherries, quartered

Preparation

Beat butter 30 seconds, add sugar, baking powder, soda and salt. Beat until well mixed and fluffy.
Add eggs, milk and vanilla. Beat until well combined, gradually add flour.
Beat again.
Stir in nuts and 1/3 cup cherries.
Put cereal in shallow dish, drop rounded teaspoon of dough into cereal and turn to coat.
Put 2-inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet, flatten slightly.
Press cherry quarters into center of each cookie.
Bake in 375\u00b0 oven approximately 8 minutes.
Cool on rack.
Yield: 48 cookies.
