Caramel Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. white sugar
    2/3 c. sweet milk
    1/2 c. white Karo
    1/4 tsp. soda
    3 Tbsp. butter
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Mix together first 3 ingredients, put over heat and let come to a boil.
    Stir in soda.
    Continue to boil until mixture forms a soft ball.
    Remove from heat.
    Add butter.
    Beat until creamy; add chopped nuts and vanilla.
    Continue beating until rather thick. When cooled, pour into buttered dish and cut into squares.
