Christmas Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. sour pickles, drained (reserve juice)
    5 lb. sugar
    4 cloves garlic pickling spices
Preparation
    Slice pickles into original jar, alternating layers of slices pickles and sugar.
    Add garlic pickling spices.
    Cover with pickle juice.
    Let stand 24 hours.
