Divinity - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 c. sugar
1 c. light corn syrup
1 c. water
4 egg whites, stiffly beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts
1/8 tsp. salt
Preparation

Combine sugar, salt, syrup and water.
Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, until sugar is dissolved.
Boil to 265\u00b0 on candy thermometer.
Remove from heat; pour half of the syrup slowly over egg whites, beating with electric mixer.
Return syrup to stove. Cook to 300\u00b0.
Pour slowly over egg white mixture.
Beat until stiff. Add nuts and vanilla.
Beat by hand until firm. Drop by teaspoonfuls on wax paper.
Let stand until firm.
Store in airtight container.
