Ingredients

2/3 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. hot water
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sorghum
3 eggs, well beaten
5 c. sifted flour
3 tsp. soda
Preparation

Cream shortening, sorghum and sugar.
Add eggs and beat well. Combine dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture along with the hot water.
Add more flour, if needed, to make a stiff cookie dough.
Drop by teaspoonful on ungreased baking sheet 1-inch or more apart.
Bake in moderate oven (350\u00b0) for 10 minutes.
Makes about 100 drop cookies.
