Light Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. lukewarm water
    1 cake or pkg. yeast
    1 c. melted lard
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. mashed potatoes (just potatoes, no seasoning)
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    2 tsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast in 1 cup of the quart of warm water.
    Add all the other ingredients and enough flour to work dough easy; let rise.
    Work down good each time you take off rolls.
    Keep extra batter in refrigerator.
    Roll out like biscuits, about 1/2 inch thick.
    Cut with biscuit cutter, place in greased 9 x 13-inch cake pan.
    Brush tops with melted butter; let rise.
    Bake in 400\u00b0 oven until light brown.
