Hamburg Bean Pot - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. dry Great Northern beans
    4 qt. water
    1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
    2 c. diced celery
    2 carrots, diced
    2 potatoes, diced
    2 medium onions, chopped
    1/2 c. uncooked rice
    1 tsp. black pepper
    4 tsp. salt
    4 beef bouillon cubes
    1 lb. lean ground beef
Preparation
    Place beans in a large pot.
    Add water and bring to a boil. Boil for 2 minutes.
    Remove from heat and let stand for 1 hour. Return to heat and cook until almost tender.
    Add all other ingredients but the ground beef.
    Brown ground beef in a skillet until crumbly.
    Add to bean mixture.
    Cover and simmer for 1 hour or until the vegetables are tender.
