Chow Mein - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. onions, sliced lengthwise
    3 c. celery
    1 can bamboo shoots, drained
    1 lb. pork, beef, shrimp or chicken, sliced thin
    3 Tbsp. oil
    3/4 c. mushrooms
    1 can bean sprouts (1 lb.), drained
    1 tsp. sugar
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    5 Tbsp. soy sauce
    3/4 c. soup stock
Preparation
    In a large skillet, brown meat slowly until done in 1 tablespoon of oil. Remove from heat.
    In another pan, simmer the onions in 1 tablespoon oil briefly.
    Add meat.
    Saute the bamboo shoots and mushrooms and add to meat.
    Saute the celery slightly. All vegetables should be a bit crunchy. Add to meat.
    Finally, add the bean sprouts.
    Make a mixture of the sugar, cornstarch, soy sauce and soup stock and add to meat mixture, beating thoroughly and stirring. Serve over rice or noodles.
