Short Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. flour
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1 beaten egg
    1/2 c. milk
Preparation
    Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
    Cut in shortening; combine beaten egg and milk.
    Add all at once to dry ingredients.
    Stir just to moisten.
    Knead gently on a lightly floured surface, about 12 strokes.\tPat or roll to 1/2-inch thick; cut into 9 biscuits.
    Bake at 450\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
