Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick margarine
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    5 egg yolks
    2 c. plain flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 small can coconut
    1 c. nuts
    5 egg whites
Preparation
    Beat egg whites until stiff.
    Cream margarine and shortening; add sugar and beat until smooth.
    Add egg yolks; combine flour and soda.
    Add to mixture alternately with milk.
    Stir in vanilla. Add coconut and nuts.
    Fold in egg whites.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
