Beef Brisket With Mushroom Gravy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 lb. boneless brisket (flat)
    1 large onion, sliced
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    2 tsp. flour, blended with 1/4 c. water
    1/4 lb. sliced mushrooms
    2 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Brown beef in its own fat in large Dutch oven.
    Add onion, salt and pepper; cover and cook over low heat 1 hour.
    Don't add water. Slice meat on angle and return meat and meat juice to pot.
    Cover and simmer 2 hours.
    Remove meat; stir in flour until thickened. Stir in mushrooms that have been sauteed in the butter.
    Pour gravy over meat and serve.
