Hot Crossed Buns - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 pkg. yeast
1/2 c. warm water
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3 eggs
3 to 4 c. flour
2/3 c. currants
Preparation

Soften yeast in water.
In a small saucepan, heat shortening just until melted.
Stir in milk, sugar, salt, cinnamon and currants and allow to cool slightly.
When this is just warm to the touch, add it to the yeast-water in a large bowl and stir in eggs.
Add flour until moisture is absorbed and let rise until doubled.
