Minestrone Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1/2 c. chopped celery
    1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes
    1 c. shredded cabbage
    3/4 tsp. dried basil
    1/4 tsp. dried oregano
    1/2 c. dry elbow macaroni
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1 garlic clove
    2 c. water
    1 c. sliced carrots
    1 bay leaf
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Heat oil in soup pot.
    Add onion, celery and garlic and cook until soft, about 3 minutes.
    Add remaining ingredients except macaroni.
    Simmer, covered, for 25 minutes.
    Add macaroni and simmer 15 minutes.
    Remove bay leaf.
    Serve hot.
    Makes six 1-cup servings.
