Vidalia Onion Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 stack finely crushed saltines
1 stick butter (for crust)
1/2 stick butter (for filling)
3 c. thinly sliced Vidalia onions
3/4 c. milk
2 lightly beaten eggs
1 tsp. salt
dash of pepper
1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
Preparation

Melt 1 stick butter and add saltines.
Press into 9-inch pie plate.
Melt remaining butter in skillet and add onions.
Cook over medium heat until tender, but not brown, about 15 minutes. Put into pie shell.
Heat milk.
Beat eggs and add to milk with salt and pepper.
Heat until hot, but do not boil.
Pour over onions.
Sprinkle with cheese.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes. Serve hot, cut into wedges.
