Spanish Green Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. fresh green beans or 2 cans green beans
    1 can stewed tomatoes
    1/4 green pepper, diced
    1/2 large onion, diced
    1/4 c. catsup
    1 slice bacon, cut in 1-inch pieces
    salt and pepper (optional)
Preparation
    If green beans are fresh, parboil about 10 minutes and drain. If canned beans, just drain.
    In large saucepan, fry bacon until crisp; remove from pan.
    Saute onion in bacon fat; add green pepper.
    Add green beans to sauteed onion and green pepper.
    Stir in stewed tomatoes, including juice, and catsup.
    Simmer, uncovered, until juice is absorbed, about 1/2 hour.
