Gingerbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. molasses
    6 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. allspice
    2 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. soda, dissolved in 1 cup boiling water
    2 1/2 c. flour
    2 eggs
Preparation
    Mix together sugar, molasses, butter, cinnamon, cloves, allspice, ginger, soda and water.
    Add flour and mix well.
    Add eggs, beaten.
    Mix.
    Pour into greased and floured 9 x 9-inch pan. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
    Test with toothpick.
    Done when pick comes out dry.
    Do not overbake.
